Our Techniques in Ridgewood

We use a variety of effective chiropractic techniques in Ridgewood, depending on what is needed by the individual patient. Some might prefer a more gentle chiropractic technique for pain relief like SOT or Soft Tissue Massage, while others might improve with a more aggressive pain relief method such as Graston Technique or Trigger Point Release. Every chiropractic patient is treated as an individual to meet your needs. Whichever technique is used, it will always be my goal, as your chiropractor, to provide fast and natural pain relief and prevention. A list of chiropractic techniques available is listed below.

The Graston Technique® in Ridgewood

Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions, relieving and assisting pain management. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. Originally developed by athletes, Graston Technique® is an interdisciplinary treatment used by more than 16,000 clinicians worldwide—including physical and occupational therapists, hand therapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers.

For the pain patient, Graston Technique provides quicker and more improved outcomes. There is increased satisfaction in recovery time and decreased frustration as a result of the Graston Technique’s inherent diagnostic ability. Pain, swelling, spasm, and knots in the muscle decrease quickly. Movement or range of motion improves quickly. Typically, results are experienced in 2-5 office visits.

Patients having open wounds, thrombophlebitis, uncontrolled hypertension, inflammatory conditions due to infection, hematoma, osteomyelitis or an unstable fracture should NOT have Graston Technique performed. Be sure to consult with a Certified Graston Technique practitioner.
